The Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery is a male Orthodox monastery on the bank of Lake Siverskoe. It is truly the queen of Vologda region and the participant of "Seven Wonders of Russia" voting. It is located 50 km to the north.
The Ferapontov convent. For 400 years the monastery had been one of the most important cultural and religious educational centers of the Belozersky Region. The unique in its purity and state of preservation architectural and mural painting complex of pre-Peter times has been retained here. UNESCO inscribed the monastery on the World Heritage List in 2000. In the buildings of the former monastery there is currently a museum. It is located 55 km to the North.
The Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery in Vologda. It is a complex of architectural monuments of the XVI-XVIII centuries, including the five-domed Spassky Cathedral (1537-1542) and the Assumption Church - the oldest preserved wooden tent church in Russia. It is located 100km to the East.
