Before buying an air ticket, consult with your doctor about whether the flight is medically permitted; what precautions should be taken; whether an accompanying person is needed in flight.

The presence of an accompanying person providing care for the passenger during the flight is mandatory:

  • when transporting a passenger with a visual and hearing disability at the same time;
  • for a disabled child under 12 years of age.

Transportation of a passenger recognized by the court as incapacitated is carried out at the request of parents, adoptive parents or guardians and accompanied by an adult passenger who is able to ensure the safety of the incapacitated passenger and the safety of people around him.

Airline personnel do not provide medical assistance, care, feeding passengers, hygiene and toilet procedures, moving the passenger (associated with lifting him), caring for a guide dog accompanying the passenger.

In the absence of an accompanying person at the check-in stage, in cases where the presence of an accompanying person is mandatory, the passenger is not transported accepted.

The presence of an accompanying person providing care and supervision for the passenger during the flight is recommended if the passenger needs medical assistance, hygiene and toilet procedures, has difficulty understanding the instructions of the crew members, controlling their behavior, may experience significant difficulties in orientation during the trip.

Be sure to inform the Airline about the planned flight of a passenger with disabilities in one of the following ways:

  • when purchasing a ticket at an agency or the company's booking department - provide the booking agent with the following information: whether you are transporting a wheelchair as baggage (indicating its type - mechanical or battery-powered, weight, dimensions), whether assistance is needed when moving around the airport, whether you are flying with an escort, and other details. Disabled people and people with disabilities are served without queuing at our own and agency sales offices;
  • When purchasing a ticket on the official website, please submit a request for transportation approval.
Send a request for transportation approval

A wheelchair and means of transportation or movement are registered as checked baggage and transported in the baggage compartment of the aircraft. To prevent damage to the wheelchair or loss of parts during transportation, it is recommended to hand over the wheelchair, vehicle or transfer to the luggage in a packed form.

Passengers can use the power-operated wheelchair before boarding the aircraft or check in their luggage during check-in. Passengers using an electrically powered wheelchair must place such a wheelchair in their luggage during check-in. The carriage of an electrically powered wheelchair is carried out in accordance with safety regulations, the battery must be disconnected, and the battery terminals are isolated to avoid a short circuit. Passengers using an electrically powered wheelchair are required to carry instructions, a set of keys, devices for disconnecting the battery terminals of the wheelchair, as well as a protective case-packaging for the battery. The battery must be carried in the cabin of the aircraft. The battery terminals are disconnected by an accompanying person or an airport employee under the control of the passenger and at his request.

After putting the wheelchair in the luggage, the passenger will be taken to the plane in a wheelchair provided by the airport. The wheelchair is returned to the passenger immediately after exiting the aircraft, or in the baggage claim area — in this case, a passenger with limited mobility will be taken to the baggage claim point in a wheelchair provided by the airport.

Rules for the carriage of electric wheelchairs

We recommend that you arrive at the airport in advance, no later than 1 hour and 20 minutes before departure time, and be sure to contact the check-in desk so that our staff can provide you with the necessary assistance.

The attendant who provides care for the passenger in flight is registered together with the passenger he is accompanying. On board, the escort is provided with a seat next to the passenger.

In order for us to provide you with the opportunity to stay in the cabin before boarding other passengers, please arrive at the boarding gate no later than the boarding start time indicated on the boarding pass.

The carrier has the right to refuse transportation to a passenger if his health condition threatens the safety of the passenger himself or other persons, which is confirmed by medical documents, as well as creates disorder and irreparable inconvenience for other persons, as well as if it is not possible on individual aircraft to provide the conditions necessary for passenger transportation. Disabled people and passengers with disabilities are not provided with seats in the row of emergency exits.

Passenger seats are equipped with armrests that can be raised or lowered to allow passengers with limited mobility to move easily from a wheelchair to a passenger seat. Flight attendants will assist in seating in the cabin, inform about the design and equipment of the passenger seat, the location and equipment of the toilet.

Crutches, canes, and folding walkers are placed in the cabin in close proximity to the passenger seat. A dog accompanying a disabled passenger is placed in the passenger seat area of the passenger it accompanies. The animal may not be on the passenger seat, in the passenger area of other passengers, near emergency exits, block evacuation routes, and must not interfere with standard service procedures.

Flight attendants may provide assistance in moving to the toilet. If necessary, you can use an onboard wheelchair to move around the aircraft cabin to the toilet. For moving around the cabin to the toilet of a passenger who is unable to move independently, an onboard wheelchair is provided to the accompanying person caring for the passenger during the flight.

Before arrival at the destination airport, flight attendants will inform you of the exit procedure: passengers with disabilities and other persons with disabilities disembark immediately after other passengers exit.
