How do I prepare for transportation with a pet?

1

Please inform us that you are traveling with a pet no later than 48 hours before the flight departure. If you arrange transportation on our website, then fill out the application for approval.

If you arrange transportation at a call center or a third-party agency, then inform the agent about the need to transport the animal

2

Check out animal transportation rules and pay for the service at the departure airport before the flight departs, or when arranging transportation at the agency.

3

Place the pet in a cage/carrier.

Without a cage/carrier, we will not be able to put your pet on the flight. The exception is the guide dog and the service dog that flies in the cabin.

4

Confirm that the pet is healthy.

Show the animal's veterinary passport at the check-in desk at the departure airport so that we can make sure that your pet is OK

5

Accompany your pet.

The passenger who is transporting the animal must be listed as its owner and be of legal age.

In the cabin

If the weight of the animal together with the container does not exceed 8 kg and the carrying dimensions do not exceed 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions (length+height+width).

In the cabin, a passenger can carry one container with a pet. One or two animals of the same species of any age can be placed in the container. No more than 2 places (containers, cages, carrier bags) with animals /birds are allowed for transportation in the cabin of the aircraft on the flight. In case of transportation of two animals in one container, payment is made for each animal.

A passenger carrying an animal in the passenger compartment is not provided with:

  • seats at the emergency exit;
  • seats with passengers with children or with other passengers carrying animals;
  • seats in the front rows in the Economy class cabin.

  1. To transport an animal (bird) in the luggage compartment, the container must be made of impact–resistant rigid material - hard plastic, metal, welded metal mesh, wood or plywood (A container made entirely of welded or reinforced mesh is not accepted for transportation)
  2. Containers made of wood, metal or plywood are used to transport aggressive dog breeds.
  3. The size of the container should allow the animal to stand up to its full height, turn around, lie down and sit in a natural position.

    • The container door must be made of welded metal mesh or smooth metal with holes. The container door must be securely attached to the container so that the animal cannot knock it out. It is allowed to use a plastic door, provided that the locks and fasteners are made of metal, and the door pins (hinges) pass through the entire length of the door and protrude at least 16 mm. The cell size of any door should not exceed 25x25 mm in order to avoid the paws, nose or tail of an animal getting into the cell;
    • The inner surface of the container must have smooth rounded surfaces that exclude damage to the animal during transportation;
    • The container must be equipped with handles for lifting and carrying it. For containers with a total weight of more than 60 kg, devices for mechanical loading by a forklift must be provided;
    • Ventilation is provided by one side, which can serve as a container door. In this case, the total ventilation area should be at least 16% of the total surface of the container.

      If the container is equipped with wheels, they must be removed or fixed in a non-working position during transportation;

    • The container must be securely closed with locking devices that exclude spontaneous opening of the container, opening by animals or unauthorized access to the animal during transportation and in flight.
